Founded in Shanghai in 1990, Shanghai Hubang Intelligent Rehabilitation Equipment Co., Ltd. is a leading Chinese manufacturer of wheelchairs and rehabilitation equipment. With over 30 years of experience, Hubang integrates R&D, intelligent manufacturing, and strict quality control across four production bases covering more than 80,000 m². As a high-tech enterprise and a contributor to China’s national wheelchair standards, Hubang provides reliable mobility products and professional rehabilitation solutions to customers worldwide.
Founded in Shanghai in 1990, Hubang began its journey with a clear mission: to develop reliable wheelchairs that improve mobility, independence, and quality of life. This marked the beginning of our long-term commitment to wheelchair manufacturing, product innovation, and dependable quality.
In 2005, Hubang partnered with LINX, one of Japan’s leading custom wheelchair manufacturers, and successfully passed JIS inspection. We also began working with the World Wheelchair Foundation. In the same year, our annual sales in China exceeded 100,000 units, marking a major milestone in our growth and international expansion.
In 2008, Hubang provided the wheelchair used by the final torchbearer to light the cauldron at the Beijing Paralympic Games. In the same year, Hubang completed U.S. FDA registration, while annual sales in China exceeded 200,000 units.
In 2015, Hubang established its Electric Wheelchair Division, accelerating the development of electric wheelchairs and powered mobility solutions. In the same year, Hubang showcased its products at major rehabilitation and assistive technology exhibitions, further expanding its industry presence and partnerships.
In 2025, Hubang completed the upgrade of its power wheelchair smart super factory, building advanced production lines with automation, intelligent manufacturing, and information-based management to support more efficient and higher-quality production.
